PBH are innovators in the design and production of cold extrusion tooling and have over many years supplied leading companies in the automobile industry. We have developed specialist skills and production methods, which lend themselves to the manufacture of components in very hard materials, for eg. (68 Rockwell) where levels of surface finish to 4 micron (0.1 mm) and accuracies to 0.0005 mm diameter are required.
The facilities at PBH include a comprehensive modern manufacturing plant and well equipped inspection department.
The comprehensive tool making plant in this section includes CNC EDM wire cutting, honing and extensive grinding facilities. This enables PBH to manufacture punches and dies, various types of form tools as wells as jigs and fixtures. Complete assemblies for machines and automation can also be economically and efficiently produced.
CNC & CONVENTIONAL MACHINING
Substantial CNC turning and vertical milling facilities with integrated 4th axis and off machine programming, maximise machine availability and flexibility. They also provide substantial capacity for one off, short and medium batch production of precision components in stainless, toolsteels, titanium, aluminium, composites, plastics and exotic aerospace materials.
Maximum CNC turning capacity is 380 mm swing by 600 mm in length and CNC milling capacity is X axis 1020 mm Y axis 510 mm and Z axis 500 mm. In support of the CNC plant a large range of conventional milling machines, chucking and bar feed, lathes, jig boring machines and grinding equipment, provide excellent capacity for one off complex parts, prototypes, jigs and fixtures.
PBH has numerous CNC lathes, some with driven tooling and sub-spindle facility. As well as conventional machining of traditional materials, PBH has extensive expertise of hard turning, thus eliminating expensive grinding operations and hence more cost effective manufacture.
PBH has numerous CNC vertical machining centres with integrated 4 Axis facilities. Although parts are manufactured for various customers/industries, manufacturing components for the aerospace, defence and medical industries is a speciality.
To maximise machine availability and flexibility, programming is off-line, with DNC links to the machine tools.
CNC GRINDINGTo reduce the number of grinding operations and maintain consistency of finish, size and quality, PBH have invested in the purchase of Studer CNC Universal Grinder machines.
PBH has a range of manual machines i.e. lathes, milling machines, cylindrical and surface grinders, drills etc.
